Healthy Eating in Vancouver with a Side of Design Inspiration

Written By Brooke TakharDate 29 Sep. 2017

Healthy eating has become very trendy and we are absolutely thrilled about it. Inspired chefs and home cooks now know that healthy food can be appealing to the eye and the stomach. Healthy food can inspire a lifestyle change. Most importantly, healthy food can be absolutely delicious and satisfying.

We are lucky to live in Vancouver where there are ample restaurants to order beautiful and vibrant cuisine that leaves us fulfilled in every way. The fun extra perk? Their interiors are amazing too!

Here are some of our favourite places to grab a bite surrounded by style.

Heirloom Vegetarian Restaurant
“Heirloom Restaurant reflects a dedication to using thoughtfully chosen fairly traded ingredients with a local and world conscious initiative.”

The food is a feast for the senses and we adore the large windows, the clean white palette and exposed brick.

TurF
“Ridic food, smart shop, and super sweaty classes. We’re community-loving and full of possibility.”

This space is a clever combination of all things that make us glow – exercise, fine design and protein-packed dishes.

Kokomo
“Good vibes you can taste.”

A small but bold spot “inspired by the sun”, we love Kokomo’s vibrant artwork, abundant greenery and colourful plant-based bowls for on-the-go feel-good meals.

Umaluma Gelato
“The magic of Umaluma started with the simple desire to create a super healthy, organic, non-dairy alternative to traditional Italian gelato — the yummy stuff that’s creamy, smooth and bursting with flavour.”

Umaluma makes gelato that tastes so rich you would never guess it was dairy-free. The secret to their success is magnificent flavours, wonderful service and a fun retro vibe.

Tractor
“Tractor serves a range of healthy, fresh and unique salads, soups, sandwiches and stews in a convenient cafeteria-style format.”

A modern twist on the cafeteria filled with gorgeous wood pieces and proof that “fast food” can be abundantly healthy.

The Juice Truck
“Vancouver’s first and original Cold-Pressed Juice Company.”

You might have seen the original Juice Truck around town – a beautiful watermelon-hued vessel that offered delicious fresh juices and smoothies. Their storefront is a stunning minimalist feast for the eyes that feels like a love letter to fresh produce.

Buddha-Full
“Plant-based food for you everyday.”

It might not be the easiest place to get to (nestled in the North Shore) but it is one of our favourite cozy spots for organic, vegan, gluten-free and raw food options.
